Funny, I’ve just been through all this process. I’ve just traded my petrol S4 avant ( fully loaded ) for an S5 sportback (Diesel). I looked at second hand Rs5 and tested one . I also tried to find fully loaded S5 sportback petrol with decent mileage .. nothing decent with the tour package around .

S4 is only better if you regularly have passengers. LOVE THE S5, but I sometimes wonder if the driving experience I was after would have favoured a TTRS or TTS instead. Oh, and the sunroof in the S5 doesn't slide back, it only flips up. Wasn't a deal breaker for me, but I do miss the A4's version.
